The Arista QSFP-40G-SRBD-R is a QSFP+ 40GBASE-BIDI (receive only) module from Arista Networks for 40 Gbps links. It plugs into a QSFP+ port on an Arista switch and is used for 40G spine and aggregation links, 4 × 10G breakout and data-centre interconnect.

Arista specifies the QSFP-40G-SRBD-R for 100 m on duplex OM3 and 150 m on duplex OM4 multimode fiber (receive direction only).

Per Arista's published optics data sheet, the QSFP-40G-SRBD-R receives −6 to +5 dBm/lane.

The QSFP-40G-SRBD-R uses a Duplex LC connector on duplex multimode (OM3/OM4), at 850 / 900 nm. Both ends of the link must use the same optical standard.

The -R version only receives. It is meant for monitoring, tap and packet-broker ports. For a normal two-way 40G link, use QSFP-40G-SRBD at both ends.
