About the Arista QDD-400G-SRBD
The Arista QDD-400G-SRBD is a hot-swappable QSFP-DD 400GBASE-BIDI (SR4.2) optical transceiver for 400 Gbps Ethernet over parallel multimode (OM3/OM4), with a MPO-12 UPC interface and reach of up to 70 m OM3 / 100 m OM4. Arista lets you switch it in software between a 400G point-to-point link and 4 × 100G breakout to either 100G-BIDI or 100G-SR1.2 optics. It also supports breakout to 4 × 100G-SRBD or 4 × 100G-SR1.2. Typical uses: 400G spine and super-spine fabrics, AI/ML clusters, 4 × 100G breakout and data-centre interconnect.

QDD-400G-SRBD: frequently asked questions
What is the Arista QDD-400G-SRBD?
The Arista QDD-400G-SRBD is a QSFP-DD 400GBASE-BIDI (SR4.2) module from Arista Networks for 400 Gbps links. It plugs into a QSFP-DD port on an Arista switch and is used for 400G spine and super-spine fabrics, AI/ML clusters, 4 × 100G breakout and data-centre interconnect.
What is the maximum distance of the QDD-400G-SRBD?
Arista specifies the QDD-400G-SRBD for 70 m on OM3 and 100 m on OM4 parallel multimode fiber.
What are the transmit and receive power levels of the QDD-400G-SRBD?
Per Arista's published optics data sheet, the QDD-400G-SRBD transmits −6 to +4 dBm/lane and receives −7.9 to +4 dBm/lane.
Which fiber and connector does the QDD-400G-SRBD need?
The QDD-400G-SRBD uses a MPO-12 UPC connector on parallel multimode (OM3/OM4), at 855 / 908 nm (BiDi). BiDi optics must be installed as a matching pair.
Is the QDD-400G-SRBD compatible with my Arista switch?
It works in Arista switches with QSFP-DD ports that support this optic. Send us your switch model and EOS version and we will check it against Arista's Transceiver and Cable Guide before dispatch, so you only receive a module that works in your port.
OSFP vs QSFP-DD: which 400G version do I need?
It depends only on your switch port. OSFP ports need OSFP optics and QSFP-DD ports need QSFP-DD optics; they are not mechanically interchangeable. If both ends run the same optical standard (e.g. DR4 to DR4), an OSFP module and a QSFP-DD module interoperate over the fibre.
Does the QDD-400G-SRBD support breakout?
Yes. Arista lists breakout to 4 × 100G-SRBD or 4 × 100G-SR1.2. Use the matching optics at the far end and a suitable breakout cable or patch panel.
Is your QDD-400G-SRBD genuine Arista?
Yes. Next Gen Networks supplies original Arista Networks optics, not third-party lookalikes or grey-market stock. Every unit is checked before dispatch, and we share the serial numbers on request so you can verify them in EOS ('show inventory').
What is the QDD-400G-SRBD price in India and how do I order?
The Arista QDD-400G-SRBD price in India depends on quantity, delivery city and current stock. Next Gen Networks supplies it with a GST invoice (input tax credit ready) and pan-India dispatch from New Delhi. Send the part number, quantity and delivery city on WhatsApp +91-7827955775 or email Sales@nextgennetworks.in and we reply with a GST quote.
How much power does the QDD-400G-SRBD draw?
Arista lists maximum power of 12 W for the QDD-400G-SRBD. Check your switch's per-port power budget for dense deployments.
